Spring Cleaning–For your Face!

Happy Spring

The snow is melting, the trees are budding, and the flowers are blooming (well they will be soon enough.) We all spring cleaning on our minds and cannot wait for that first day we open all the windows and air out our stuffy home from this long, long, very long winter.

While doing your spring cleaning keep in mind your skin needs its own spring cleaning! A spring cleaning Facial!

Farewell Winter

First of all we must consider what happens to your skin in the winter?? Dry, rough patches. The never ending dehydrated tight feeling no matter how much moisturizer you put on. Flaking skin that looks lifeless and grey…..

All of these unpleasant side effects of winter compromise the skins ability to function properly. Functions such as our natural shedding process (exfoliation or dead cells falling off), oil production (we all want this as we age), and the ability of the skin to retain moisture (allows the skin to remain plump, full, and youthful).

Bring Back the Glow

What can you do to bring back the glow?? Be sure faithful and diligent with your skin care routine. Cleanse your skin morning and night. Exfoliate 2-3 times per week. Moisturize everyday, twice a day! Use serums that will restore function in YOUR skin. This last one is especially important! Make sure the products you are using are right for your skin type. Using incorrect products not only hurts your wallet but can potentially damage your skin long term. Skin care professionals  (like me 🙂 Kittrina) have in depth training and knowledge, not simply about products, but ingredients as well.

Schedule your Spring Cleaning Facial

In addition to your regular monthly facial you may want to kick up your treatment a notch for spring cleaning. There are a variety of advanced exfoliation techniques we can use to leave your skin feeling soft, plump, youthful, and glowing.

Chemical Peel: Light chemical peels breakdown the top layer of dead skin allowing new glowing skin to the surface.

Microdermabrasion: This is a mechanical exfoliation technique that uses diamond tips (they feel like sandpaper) to remove dead skin.

Ultrasonic: My go to for the spring facial because this can be used on anyone (that doesn’t have a pacemaker and is not pregnant). Can be used on even the most sensitive skin because the only product we have to use here is WATER!

I will of course assist you with deciding which approach will most benefit your skin.

If this is your first treatments with us please check out the Spa Bundles page where we have created some great packages to get your skin back on track.

I look forward to seeing you all after this Very Snowy, Very Cold, Very Long winter.
